Falls are among the highest concerns of the elderly population. They realize that one fall can drastically change their quality of life.
Falls within facilities are a constant challenge which must be vigilantly monitored and addressed. Tightness and fixation of the pelvis, sacroiliac joints and lumbar spine leads to abnormal gait patterns which significantly increase the likelihood of falls. Inactivity, prolonged sitting in a wheelchair, knee/hip replacement and arthritis are just some of the things that might precipitate these issues.
